bioretention basins
A bioretention basin is a landscaped depression that treats stormwater runoff by filtering it through a specially designed soil and vegetation system before the water enters nearby waterways. The basin slows and temporarily ponds runoff, allowing physical, chemical, and biological processes within the filter media and plants to remove pollutants such as sediments, nutrients, and other contaminants. In addition to improving water quality, bioretention basins also reduce runoff volume and peak flow, helping to protect rivers and creeks from pollution.
The Florafied team possesses extensive experience and expertise in all aspects of bioretention basins. From initial design and construction through to restoration and ongoing maintenance, we can provide comprehensive support and advice at every stage.
